Swerve Brown Sweetener Details
Our newest addition to the Swerve Sweetener family is here! Use Brown Swerve in your chocolate chip cookies, honey baked ham, and caramel sauces.
Made from a unique combination of ingredients derived from fruits and vegetables, Swerve contains no artificial ingredients, preservatives or flavors. Swerve is non-glycemic and safe for those living with diabetes. Human clinical trials have shown that Swerve does not affect blood glucose levels.
The secret to our zero calorie sweetness is a combination of erythritol and oligosaccharides that provide excellent baking and cooking functionality. And with the ability to brown and caramelize, Swerve is gonna be right at home in your kitchen.
There are no conversion charts needed when baking and cooking with Swerve. If your recipe calls for half a cup of sugar... you simply replace with half a cup of Swerve!
- Natural - Nothing Artificial
- Zero Calorie
- Tastes just like sugar
- Measures cup-for-cup like sugar
- Diabetes friendly
Swerve is Diabetes Friendly!
The Glycemic Index Laboratories located in Toronto, Canada, performed tests on four different sweeteners to demonstrate the postprandial (after consumption) blood glucose responses. The study consisted of 15 healthy subjects between the ages of 18 and 75. As demonstrated in the chart below, Swerve is non-glycemic and does not raise blood glucose (blood sugar) levels.
Blood glucose levels after the non-nutritive sweeteners were significantly lower compared to sucrose at 15, 30 and 45 minutes. Glucose levels were also significantly lower after both Swerve products compared to high potency sweetener at 15 minutes. At 90 and 120 minutes, the blood glucose levels were significantly higher after the three non-nutritive sweeteners compared to sucrose.
Additionally, Swerve has been tested for its effect on levels after consumption. The chart below demonstrates the responses of the four sweeteners tested. Swerve has an extremely minimal impact.
Swerve Sweetener is different from other sweeteners in that it is a one-to-one substitute for sugar. That means you can leave your calculator in the drawer when preparing food because you don’t have to perform odd or complex calculations to determine how much of our product to use. If the recipe calls for 1 cup of sugar, then you can use 1 cup of Swerve. Its that easy!
