Adults take 3 Biotics Research Colon Plus Caps capsules in the morning and 4 capsules at night on an empty stomach with 125 ml of water (milk, fruit juice or similar aqueous beverage) once daily. Maintain adequate fluid intake. Take at least 2-3 hours before or after taking other medications and/or antibiotics. For use as a laxative: effects observed 12-24 hours after first dose, and may take 2-3 days.

Warnings
Hypersensitivity, such as an allergy, has been known to occur in rare cases and following inhaled or ingested psyllium; in which case, discontinue use. May cause temporary gas and/or bloating.
Consult a health care practitioner if symptoms worsen or if laxative effect does not occur within seven days, and discontinue use and consult a health care practitioner if symptoms of digestive upset (e.g. diarrhoea) occur, worsen, or persist beyond 3 days. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or taking medications which inhibit peristaltic movement (e.g. opioids, loperamide), or if you have bloody diarrhoea. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use if you have symptoms such as abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting or fever (as these could be signs of abnormal constrictions of the gastrointestinal tract, diseases of the oesophagus and/or the superior opening of the stomach (cardia), potential or existing intestinal blockage, paralysis of the intestine, megacolon, faecal impaction, inflamed bowel or appendicitis), or gallstones or anaemia, and consult a healthcare practitioner immediately if you experience chest pain, vomiting, or difficulty in swallowing or breathing after taking this product.
Do not use if you have difficulty swallowing or are experiencing a sudden change in bowel habits that has persisted for more than 2 weeks, undiagnosed rectal bleeding, or failure to defaecate following the use of another laxative product. Do not use if you have an immune-compromised condition (e.g. AIDS, lymphoma, patients undergoing long-term corticosteroid treatment) or diabetes mellitus in which blood sugar is difficult to regulate.
