Herbal medicine has a variety of remedies to draw from when trying to improve the health of our breathing passages. Expectorants are herbs that help to accelerate the removal of phlegm and mucus from our airways. Respir·Essence was formulated with both stimulating and relaxing expectorants. Stimulating ones like elecampane and cowslip help to liquefy stubborn phlegm and encourage a productive cough to remove it. Relaxing ones like licorice, thyme, and plantain help to prevent bronchial spasms, loosen mucus secretions, and soothe dry cough and generally relax and open up the airways for easier breathing. Nettle has astringent properties and traditionally has been used for seasonal allergy complaints.
Adults: Shake well before use. Take two tablespoons (30 ml) of Flora Respir-Esssence, 2-3 times daily. Keep out of reach of children. Keep refrigerated at all times after opening and consume within 4 weeks.
