Prairie Naturals Ocu-Force Plus Lutein Ingredients
Lutein: is the predominant carotenoid found in leafy green vegetables and naturally derived from marigold flowers. Recent scientific studies substantiate the therapeutic antioxidant value of Lutein in the prevention and treatment of Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD), a common eye disease that causes deterioration in sight and eventual blindness in older people. Lutein's natural yellow pigment is deposited in the macula of the eye, where it absorbs blue light rays and prevents photic damage and free radical destruction.
Zeaxanthin: Another natural carotenoid works as a co-factor with Lutein. An effective antioxidant, research shows that Zeaxanthin contributes significantly to the health and protection of the eyes, especially in combating AMD.
Vitamin A and Beta Carotene: Prevent night blindness and aid in the treatment of weak eyesight and dry eyes. Vitamin C, another antioxidant nutrient, is effective for numerous eye conditions including glaucoma, conjunctivitis, pink eye and cataracts. Citrus bioflavonoids are a natural part of the Vitamin C complex and strengthen blood vessels and capillaries within the eye.
Calcium and Magnesium: Minerals necessary for the healthy regulation of muscle contractions and nerve impulses. Selenium is a trace mineral with antioxidant activity and works synergistically with Vitamin E to reduce the risk of environmental damage to the eyes.
