      Widely used in Ayurvedic medicine, Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera) helps reduce symptoms of stress such as sleeplessness, fatigue, irritability and inability to concentrate. Several studies have shown this herb to have calming properties, and to significantly reduce levels of the stress hormone, cortisol.

      Studies conducted in Japan have shown that Ashwagandha has a regenerating effect on the brain’s neurons (nerve cells), suggesting it could be helpful in the prevention and treatment of dementia, Alzheimer’s and brain injury.

      Sensoril®optimized Ashwagandha has been shown to reduce cortisol levels by almost 30 per cent, and to significantly increase DHEA levels. (DHEA helps restore the body to balance following a stress reaction.)

      Adults: Take 1 or 2 capsules of Purica Ashwagandha daily, or as recommended by a healthcare professional. Store at room temperature, and protect from moisture.

        Calming adrenal support

        I am ordering this product again as my first bottle is almost out and I do feel that it helps me. I have adrenal fatigue and my practitioner recommended this along with B vitamins to support my adrenals during some treatment for other issues. I definitely have noticed reduced stress levels and am pretty relaxed about things that would normally get me riled up. I will continue taking this daily as long as I feel I need the support

        Great product.

        This is a great product to take after exhausting labour work to rebuild muscles and to relax your body from stress prior sleep.Take with food or probiotic to avoid upset stomach. Ashwagandha is a anti-inflammatory, and balancing adaptogen. Used to restore health to the nervous system and eases stress and mental exhaustion as it promotes mental clarity and improves memory and stamina.Ashwagandha can be used to help with Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease see curejoy article about that. If you feel dizzy after taking this take a few drops of ginger and the dizziness goes away. Don't take more than 400mg per day as it may affect thyroid function.

        Interactions: If taken with antidepressants,5HTP may cause drowsiness and reduce coordination. Do not take it with antidepressants and/or 5HTP.
